Live recording

A speciality. I have a wide array of options for recording live performance. I can record everyone from a solo artist to a full sized orchestra. Depending on need, I can record from the live desk or take a direct feed into a variety of specialised interfaces.

Location recording

The key to a great recording always starts with the room. For this reason, I have a series of recommended spaces that I know will provide the finest recording environment. I can then adjust the location to suit your budget. Of course, I can always come to you, if you prefer and feel that your location is suitable.

Rates

Standard recording rates are $50 per hour
Post Production i.e. editing and mixing $80 per hour
Mastering rates depend on choice of mastering engineer. My personal choice would be Don Bartley, whose rates are:
Album Mastering including master & reference CD and GST - $1265.
6 Track Ep Mastering including master & reference and GST - $770
Single Track Mastering Including GST - $165 - Parts not included.
Management fee of $100 applies.

Artwork

Rates vary depending on the project.
Below is a guide for simple designs where you provide photography and/or imagery.
CD Starter - jewel case insert (2 pages) $AU 250
CD Standard - jewel case insert (4 pages -inc back)
CD artwork - $AU 399

Venue Hire

Over the years I have developed a list of venues to suit a variety of orchestra, ensemble and group requirements. I am also happy to do location searches and audits.

Recommended venues range currently from $170 per day to $300 per hour.
Here are a few examples:

Katoomba Public School Hall (Heffernan Hall)  $170/day
St Scholastica, Glebe Point (No traffic or flightpath) was $40 per hour in 2010 (no extras):
Huge natural reverb in main church, less in side chapels
Colbourne St ‘The Office’, Glebe: $100 per hour: Good room for small groups
City Recital Hall, Angel Place, nice rehearsal room for recording (with piano) $300 per hour
Korowal School Hall, Hazelbrook: good space, no traffic,
The Joan: Full on professional setup
St Stanislaus School, Bathurst: Good sized space. Good acoustics.
Uniting Church Lithgow: good space, quiet on weekend.
